Petro Logic geologists all have extensive experience in coal geology, a necessary basis for the comprehensive understanding of coal depositional systems.

The Petro Logic approach to CBM assessment and prospect generation is based on thorough understanding of:

the processes controlling coal deposition,
the influence of deposition on coal quality and continuity,
the relationship between coal quality and potential gas content and permeability.

This fundamental approach coupled with careful seam correlation, provides the basis for resource assessment and potential exploration targets.

The first stage of an assessment comprises:

Detailed coal seam correlation,
Determination of net coal in each seam.

Once a seam correlation framework is established, assessment continues with mapping of factors such as:

Net coal in main seams,
Net coal in potential production zones,
Depth to target zone,
Thickness of target zone,
Structure on base of best-correlated seam,
Permeability parameters.

The final stage comprises:

estimation and mapping of in-situ resources,
recommended exploration targets (if sufficient resource and positive target parameters).

Petro Logic geologists can assess the CBM resource potential of your lands or of any target land area and provide recommended drilling targets in areas with sufficient resource and likelihood of permeability.

We have undertaken numerous detailed-mapping and assessment projects, some of which are in full production.
